A SUPER SLIDER 1812 half dollar! This O-104 would have easily been called Mint State at an earlier times. Only a microscopic trace of wear on the highest points can be found keeping this "GEM" AU from a higher grade holder. Essentially the luster is full and undisturbed. The strike is bold and the surfaces show just the faintest dusting of iridescent tan-gold over radiant silver. The eye appeal is amazing! PCGS 148, NGC 93, CAC 33. There are five graded AU58+ at PCGS, none of which have sold in auction. A PCGS AU58 CAC sold for $3,120 in June 2022 well above all published levels for the grade. This coin, in the wildly popular AU58+ grade will likely sell for a price commensurate with a Choice Mint State grade as demand from the "everyman" collector crowd will be fierce. Cert.
