LM-3. A gorgeous Late Die State example with really cool, heavy die breaks and die clashes on both sides. Despite the die flaws, the devices are crisply rendered with full definition to both sides. Rich and original toning, varied shades of orange-gold, lilac, and apricot-champagne hues grace both obverse and reverse of this PQ, borderline SUPERB GEM. The bold, satiny luster gleams below the color, accenting essentially FLAWLESS surfaces. PCGS 26, NGC 27, CAC 10. This is the most recent example to sell in auction, realizing $4,800 in April 2018. Prior to that, one sold in February 2017 for $6,463 and one in May 2015 for $8,865. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $7,000 and only two examples have been graded finer at PCGS, making this a prime example for a type or variety collector.
