This CHOICE Mint State B-2 sits comfortably in both the Rea-Koenings-Haroutunian and Tompkins Condition Census listings and is VERY appealing as both and example of the date and type. The obverse and reverse dies were workhorses, the obverse used to strike the B-1 and B-3 varieties as well, and the reverse was left over from 1834. Crisply struck from a later die state with the die crack at 35 into the field by star 13 and clash marks on the reverse. A frosted, satiny brilliance dominates a pearlescent silver with a blush of original patina at the rims. The eye appeal is sensationally bold and unmarred by any marks, lines, or other flaws that warrant any kind of mention. PCGS 24, NGC 17, CAC 3. The last PCGS/CAC example sold for $4,092 in April 2019. Today, the PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $4,150 and the CAC CPG value is $4,350.
