FROM THE SEATTLE COLLECTION Like the 1885, the 1886 Liberty nickel is a conditionally RARE date in Mint State, especially in GEM grade and finer. This MS65 graded example has a rich, satiny mint luster that blooms all over, accenting the lovely pastel iridescent toning. Well struck throughout, this fresh example has a wonderful eye appeal and is kept from a finer grade by a single tiny fleck or two. PCGS 54, NGC 24. The most recent NGC-graded example was CAC-approved and sold for $5,175 in July 2017, prior to that, a non-CAC example sold in the 2017 FUN auction for $6,463. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $5,500. Just four are graded higher at NGC, making this among the best you will find in an NGC holder. Good luck! Cert.
