- 1864 Two-Cent Piece. Large Motto. Proof-65 RB (PCGS). CAC. Orange, lilac and blue undertones backlight dominant antique copper patina on the obverse, the reverse exhibiting a more uniform orange-brown appearance. Both sides are uniformly sharp in striking detail with subtle reflective tendencies evident in the fields as the surfaces dip into a light. The Large Motto is by far the more readily obtainable hub variety of the first year Proof 1864 two-cent piece, its Small Motto counterpart a classic rarity. Even so, high quality survivors such as this are scarce in numismatic circles and are always in demand for first year type purposes. PCGS# 3622. NGC ID: 274T.
