- CHINA. Gold Medallic 10 Mace or Ounce, ND (ca. 1930). Tian Yee Foo Goldsmith in Chengtu. PCGS AU-55 Gold Shield. cf. KMX-1215. A VERY RAREand interesting medallic, semi-bullion issue, produced by the Tian Yee Foo Goldsmith in Chengtu, Szechuan Province. This cataloger could locate no other examples of the type, though we offered a piece from the same series--an EF half ounce medallic 5 Mace--in our April 2018 Hong Kong auction (lot 50447), hammering at $3,600. Well struck with a good deal of luster remaining, this specimen exhibits only a light degree of gentle handling. Estimate: $2,000 - $3,000. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
