Among the more available early date 3 cent silver issues, the 1853 had a mintage of 11.4 million pieces. The present SUPERB GEM example has a flawless pearlescent surface with a strong frosty satin mint luster. Sharply impressed devices stand out boldly. Soft sky blue and pearly silver graces the fields. The eye appeal is wonderful! PCGS 14, NGC 12, CAC 17. The two most recent examples sold in June 2021 realizing $6,600 and $9,600, well above the PCGS and CAC Price Guide values. Only 10 are graded finer.
