- GERMANY. Brunswick-Calenberg-Hannover. Taler, 1724-EPH. PCGS AU-58 Gold Shield. Dav-2077; KM-134; Welter-2231. Exhibiting stunning originality, this Wildman type shows smooth gray fields with an added touch of flashy golden and reddish tone around the obverse and reverse legends. Underrated as a type, this issue was struck under the rule of George Ludwig, who also ruled as George I of Great Britain and Ireland. Due to his dual titles, this issue could easily fit into a collection of German or British coins as well as those charmed by the fascinating Wildman lure. Estimate: $700 - $1,000.
