- GREAT BRITAIN. Groat, ND (1352-53). London Mint; mm: cross pattee. Edward III. PCGS AU-50. S-1566; N-1152. Pre-treaty period, series D. Obverse: Crowned facing bust, within tressure of nine arcs; inward-facing lis on seven cusps; Reverse: Long cross pattee, with trefoil in each angle. This lightly circulated Groat of Edward III displays a stronger strike than most examples. The best certified specimen of the type seen at PCGS. Estimate: $100 - $200.
