- 1738-AA Sou Marque. Metz Mint. Vlack-236a. Rarity-8. AU-53 (PCGS). 32.2 grains. Nearly full silvering with pleasing toning in a blend of rose, gold and olive-gray. Planchet lightly flawed, mostly on the reverse, detail sharp throughout, surfaces free of troublesome marks. A lovely example for the grade, and a rare first year punctuation variety in the Metz Mint sou marque series. Provenance: From the Sydney F. Martin Collection. Earlier ex Bill Paul, October 2002.
