- Rare Variety with Fasces 10 Purported to Survive ALBANIA. 20 Franga Ari, 1926-R. Rome Mint. Ahmet Zogu (as President). NGC MS-63. Fr-5; KM-12. Variety with Fasces to the left of the mintmark. Mintage: 100 (90 purportedly melted). The single RAREST Albanian coin, this type bearing Fasces is purported to have a mintage of a mere 100, with 90 melted. Dazzlingly prooflike, this tremendous commemorative features deeply mirrored fields and a crisp and refined strike. Slight whispers of friction are hard to separate from the as made die lines, and do not impinge on the original appearance of the piece. Given the low survival rate and general popularity of series, we would not be surprised should this treasure far surpass our estimates. Estimate: $6,000 - $9,000.
