PCGS MS63RB CAC Heritage Auctions Description: 1806 Half Cent, MS63 Red and Brown Large 6, Stems, C-4, B-4 1806 1/2 C Large 6, Stems, C-4, B-4, R.1, MS63 Red and Brown PCGS. CAC. Manley Die State 2.0 with faint repunching visible on the 6. This late die state is plentiful, and this example may date to the 1906 Chapman Hoard of 100-year old half cents. This example has excellent cartwheel luster with light brown surfaces that display splashes of bright orange mint color. Small dark toning spots are evident on the reverse. Our EAC grade MS60. Tompkins Die State 1/4, or a stage thereof -- all diagnostics are present for the reverse die state exception the crack from the tailfeathers to the rim. Neither side exhibits clash marks. This AU example is well-detailed, although the typical uneven strike produces weak right-hand borders, particularly evident on the obverse. Sea-green and gray border toning surrounds champagne interiors. Hints of luster remain in the peripheries. (NGC ID# 23RD, Variety PCGS# 38928, Base PCGS# 5314)
