1810 Mint Set with Gold

Like most sets during this decade, the 1810 Mint Set is rather small, consisting of only a Half Cent, a Cent and a Half Dollar. Coinage of Half Cents, Half Dimes, Dimes, Quarters and Dollars in the early years was sporadic often with extended "breaks" in their production. Only Cents and Half Dollars really enjoyed consistent manufacture during this period. All three Copper and Silver coins for this year are common for the type, so this set should be high on the list to add to your Registry. The 1810 Half Eagle is the only gold coin needed, and while the "Small 5" varieties are very rare, the "Large 5" varieties are far more available. This is not imply they are cheap, for no early U.S. gold is. But a nice high end circulated example can be purchased for under $10,000.
