* None Certified Finer Ben Franklin's motif was forced into early retirement after 1963 due to the death of President Kennedy, making the date an important one for type purposes. Non-cameo 1963 proof halves are plentiful, even Cameos can be found in the thousands, but the massive mintage of 3 million coins hides the true rarity in PR69 Deep or Ultra Cameo condition -- white-on-black, top-grade, virtually perfect examples such as this one are conditionally rare and elusive, constituting only a minuscule proportion of its numbers. This is a spectacular specimen with tremendous eye appeal, the contrast between the glassy fields and the heavily frosted devices is especially stark.
