Another Former Illini420 coin. if weren't for Mike I wouldn't have any of lower grades in this set. Very low pops on all the low grades due to the low value of the coin.

Very Dark overly expensive coin from Teletrade. Shipping cost more than the coin! Slab is damaged on reverse. Gotta love TT! They are the best! Interesting about this coin is the huge gouge on the reverse didn't make this coin grade as CODE 98?

From one extreme to the other within this grade. Eye appeal apparently didn't diminish this coins grade. I think looks terrible! It may have been over-graded??? Details are very mushy from what appears as a lot of handling to me. Especially when compared to the other AU55-58-62BN examples in this set.

The epitome of a dirty mint state coin? The outline around the bust is very yellow and "brassy" in color - not a very appealing characteristic. looking for a superior example in this grade.

Unremarkable other than coin looks much better in hand. Luster is still present. The oxidation that has formed really makes the coin look "dingy" when looking straight on at it.

Strange coin. After re-adjusting lighting angles several times I have decided that this ugly coin is impossible to capture. The Composition with the black background is actual color of the coin. This coin is also on CoinFacts white background) That image captures more detail but is too light and bright compared to the coin in hand.

Fresh Secure Plus Grade. Use this coin as benchmark in comparison to other RB coins in this set. I frankly do not understand why this coin did not get a "plus" designation or go higher. It appears much nicer than the RB examples in this set up to 66RB. Eye appeal should have bumped this one up another level at a minimum IMO of course! :)

Spectacular Red coin in hand, however under the lens this coin definitely looks RB -Strange characteristic in that the surface reflects the oxidation well to the camera lens but not to the eye. PCGS nailed this one since this coin appears to be as nice as any of 66RD's in this set side by side. It only show its true colors under the lens.

eBay 1/11 Strange lifeless looking coin under the lens Not bad looking in hand, however something must be on the surface of this coin - to not allow the lights to reflect the luster as they do in other coins. NOTE: I am very careful to use the same lighting, in the same position with same camera settings for all my copper images.

DLRC 2/7/11 CAC Assurance. A big hit right at Lincolns nose which IMO is a significant distraction. I don't understand CAC. I presume that this coin is solid for the grade in spite of the distracting ding. If this is true then the coin above is under graded. I am so confused! lol 3/17/11

Heritage 2/22/11 Best 66RD IMO - Stronger strike, better luster than the 65RD CAC below - Maybe a great candidate for submitting for the new Shield Plus grades? One hit on the reverse - spotting is not visible in hand. One of the few pleasant surprises from HA

eBay 12/10 jwpgolf - Is this the shade of Minty Fresh RED? Seems there is little of the "red toning" typical of a 100 yr old coin. Very vibrant and reflective luster on both sides. The spotting is not immediately apparent in hand and only slightly visible under a loupe. Note that these images excessively exaggerate the spotting. Another Amazing Coin via eBay at well below market values

eBay 1/11 Jamie Smith - Colorwise - this one is another shade of red and nice candidate for inclusion to this grade. DLRC 10/10 - Deep vibrant luster as a 67RD should be. A fair number of small tics and dings. The reverse luster and color is a "fresh from the mint" shade of red. Excluding the reverse, it is hard for me to differentiate this coin from the best MS66RD example. Obverse is showing a tiny bit of oxidation that is creating a "skin" that the lens picks up but the eye does not. I wonder if this is at the low end of 67RD?
