- Neither toned nor entirely free from patina, it appears a gossamer layer of vintage greyish patina blankets the surface, helping to diffuse blazing white luster. A date famous for abraded examples, these surfaces generally escape mentionable contact except for a nick on the bottom of Liberty's jaw and several other scattered miniature bagmarks. Some noise at the lower reverse is actually a group of microscopic planchet voids, as-struck.
