- 1788 Massachusetts Cent. Ryder 8-C, W-6260. Rarity-3. Period After MASSACHUSETTS. AU-53 (PCGS). 166.6 grains. Lustrous chocolate-brown surfaces are ever so slightly granular, with faded copper color in the recesses of the devices and legends. Well centered and very well struck, this example's two carbon spots to the left of the bow will serve to identify it piece in future provenance or rarity research.
