- An exceptional GEM quality beauty, tied for FINEST certified by PCGS with just one other example. When you consider the outbreak of war the following year, that any example can survive in such high grade and have the outrageous eye appeal of this stunning GEM is mind blowing. Borderline-SUPERB GEM with a classic, old time collection look. Boldly lustrous surfaces have a satiny brilliance and strong pearly frost throughout the fields on both sides. Richer toning caresses the peripherals while the central areas are pearly-silver and sky blue. Crisply defined design elements are complete, save for some minor weakness on stars 9-13. The surfaces are exceptionally clean and the visual quality is excellent. Great coins like these do not appear with any frequency, and often times the opportunity to acquire a great coin like this are just as rare as the coin. PCGS 8, NGC 1, CAC 3.
