- Census-Topping Superb Gem Mint State 1910-D Eagle 1910-D Indian Eagle. MS-67 (NGC). Resplendent mint luster on the obverse and reverse adds to the strong eye appeal of this landmark coin. The strike is sharp and the surfaces are as close to perfection as any that survive. The peripheral lettering and devices are well struck -- important given the fact that many of this date and mint show unusual die wear which weakens the date and edge devices near the rims. This is the most plentiful of the branch mint issues for this series -- a total of 2,356,640 pieces were struck. Over 20,000 have been certified between both grading services, but at the Superb level the number seen is very low. Worthy of a strong bid for such quality is seldom offered. PCGS# 8866.
