JR-1. Only one set of dies was used to strike 1809 dimes, and these are VERY RARE in Mint State! Rich blue toning shows some lighter silver accents that surround the nicely defined devices. A true Mint State coin with a great look. As a hint to the elusive nature of the date, the Pogue Collection lacked an 1809. PCGS 1, NGC 0. This coin has not ever sold in auction. The current CU value is listed at $6,750. The only two recent comps were a PCGS AU58 that sold over five years ago, realizing $4,776 and a PCGS MS63 that sold in the March 2018 sale of the Vanderbilt Collection for $11,700.
