Kienast-443. 36mm. By Karl Goetz. Obverse: Walther von der Vogelweide seated right on rocks, leaning upon sword; Wartburg Castle in the background; Reverse: Coat-of-arms of von der Vogelweide. Sublime light gray surfaces dominate this choice example, featuring some burnished peripheral hints. Von der Vogelweide was a 12th-13th century lyric poet who is regarded as one of the greatest of his field before Johann Wolfgang von Goethe nearly 600 years later. Estimate: $75 - $150.
