With an original mintage of 300,000, the 93-O Morgan dollar is one of the lower mintages of the entire series. Offering a better look than what you would expect for such a modestly graded Mint State coin, this highly lustrous example is essentially CHOICE, and would easily have been called such in an old catalog before 3rd party grading. The reverse has a touch of "flash" in the lustrous fields, while the obverse is satiny with a glowing cartwheel swirl. A few widely scattered traces of contact account for the 62+ grade, but none are serious enough to call out singularly. PCGS 10, NGC 5. Only two examples have sold in auction, this one being the most recent bringing $4,700. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $5,500 and keep in mind that in MS63, the value jumps to $7,250. This is a pleasing example, with a strong visual allure for the assigned grade. Cert.
