详细说明: 1855 Pattern Flying Eagle Cent. Judd-172, Pollock-198. Rarity-6-. Proof-64 BN (PCGS). 1859 Pattern Half Dollar. Judd-239, Pollock-295. Rarity-4. Proof-64 (NGC). The obverse is the same that the Mint used to strike the Judd-167 and Judd-168 pattern cents being offered above. The reverse design is similar to that described above for the Judd-167 and Judd-168 examples, but there are fewer leaves in the wreath. There are two leaves below the letter E in STATES, and this appears to be the same die used to strike pattern 1854 Flying Eagle cents of the Judd-163, Judd-164 and Judd-165a types. Struck in copper with a plain edge.<br />     A beautiful specimen with undeniable originality, both sides exhibit dominant golden-copper patina. Original rose-red color is also evident around the obverse periphery. Sharply struck, and nearly full in most areas, slight muting to the surfaces may be the only impediment to an even higher numeric grade. Examples of this type were struck in early 1855, and survivors are quite rare with any of the original mint red color remaining, per the website uspatterns.com.
