An incredibly eye appealing GEM example of this date, which is extremely RARE any finer. Not only is this coin all there from a technical standpoint, the eye appeal is great. We love the rich orange gold color that is enlivened by a bold, shimmering luster. Well struck on both sides, the surfaces show off a bold cleanliness that is just a couple of tiny ticks from an even loftier grade. This coin is very interesting to look at up close. The obverse was struck from a shattered die with a number of long, thin die cracks, a feature that is not often seen on Saint Gaudens $20s, and adds to the visual allure. PCGS 1672, NGC 548, CAC 27. There are 60 graded MS65+ at PCGS with just a dozen graded higher. The most recent PCGS/CAC MS65+ sold in the 2020 FUN auction for $13,800. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $12,500 and it jumps to $45,000 in MS66. Bound for a world class set of Saints, we think our estimate will prove very conservative when the hammer falls. Good luck. Cert. Number 39681822 PCGS # 9173
