- FRANCE. Visit of the King and Queen of Westphalia to the Paris Mint Silver Medal, 1807. PCGS SP-63 Gold Shield. Bramsen-671. By B. Andrieu. Cupid offers Hymen a rose to add to the garland he is making; Reverse: Wreath enclosing a six line inscription - Cupid's arrow above, Hymen's torch below. Shortly after Napoleon installed his youngest brother Jerome as King of Westphalia, Jerome and his brand new bride Catharina of Wurttemberg visited big brother Napoleon in Paris. This medal commemorates their visit to the mint during that visit. Preserved in alluring quality with reflective silver surfaces and vibrant russet coloration on the obverse which softens on the reverse. Light hairlines determine the grade, but do little to diminish the eye appeal. Estimate: $400 - $600.
