THE XANNO COLLECTION A handsome gem with intense color not often seen on this first year of issue of Variety 3 Indian Cents struck in bronze. Surfaces are smooth and nearly mark free. The designer James B. Longacre placed his initial (L) on the lower ribbon behind the neck to denote the redesigned portrait of this variety. This design continued unchanged until 1909 when the series was discontinued and replaced with the Lincoln Cent. PCGS 36, NGC 16. Only 18 finer. Listed in the PCGS Price Guide with a value of $5,250. The most recent auction price realized was $5,040 in December 2021. An outstanding value for the date and condition as the price jumps sharply at the next grade level. Much scarcer than the 1864 “No L” Cent. Bid accordingly. Cert. Number 25673118 PCGS # 2081
