详细说明: 1865 Liberty Seated Quarter. Proof-64 Cameo (NGC). CAC. Truly a delight to behold, this handsome specimen possesses dominant sea-green patina with antique-purple and silver that finds its greatest, most even expression in the center of the reverse. Undertones of vivid cobalt-blue, reddish-gold and salmon-pink are also worthy of praise as the coin is turned under a light. A cameoed finish is readily appreciable with the aid of direct lighting, and all angles allow full appreciation of razor sharp striking detail. The final year of the Civil War saw the Philadelphia Mint strike 500 Proof quarters, the last regular issue of the No Motto Liberty Seated design type. These coins were distributed as part of the year's silver Proof sets, and more than half are believed extant in numismatic circles. The typical 1865 quarter falls into the Proof-60 to Proof-62 grade range, however, although the persistent collector will usually be able to procure a Choice specimen in Proof-63 or Proof-64 within any given year of numismatic auction activity.
