- Choice Noe-33a Pine Tree Sixpence 1652 Massachusetts Bay Colony Pine Tree Sixpence. Noe-33a, W-670. Rarity-5. Pellets at Trunk. EF-40 (PCGS). 33.5 grains. Beautiful deep golden gray with exceptional visual appeal. Unlike the Noe-33 sixpences, which are uniformly aligned to 12 o'clock on the obverse, and thus cutting off the lion's share of the obverse legend, the Noe-33a is ideally centered, allowing for a complete legend on both sides. The tops of a few letters are off the planchet, as typical. Problem free and absolutely lovely, this coin is rarer than its rarity rating would indicate, perhaps 10 times more elusive in the marketplace than a standard misaligned Noe-33 sixpence.
