- Legend Rare Coin Auctions is honored to offer the FINEST CERTIFIED 1835 Capped Bust dime regardless of variety. Fresh to the market, consigned to us after it was submitted to PCGS for grading when it was pulled out of an old Wayte Raymond board. Long term Wayte Raymond storage and a kiss from Mother Nature's magic resulted in the most fabulous toning pattern that graces both sides of this GEM! Concentric rings of blue, green, gold, with splashes of violet, magenta and orange frame both sides. The central obverse has a blast of brilliant untoned silver that makes the surfaces sing with life. A lively underlying luster glows boldly under the colors. Sharply struck devices stand out nicely with crisply defined details. The only flaw we see of any kind is a tiny tick above star 8. This is so miniscule, you cannot see it without the assistance of a strong glass. The eye appeal is incredible, one of the most beautiful, old time looking Capped Bust dime of any date we have had the pleasure of offering. Unbelievable quality and eye appeal. JR-8, Rarity-3. This is clearly the FINEST KNOWN from these dies. PCGS 1, NGC 0. There are none finer at either service, all though at some point there was an NGC MS67, which last sold in Rarcoa's session of Auction '90 for $46,200, which stands as a world record. Nicer than any MS66 we can find as having sold previously, so there are no real comps for the date. Finer and more beautiful than the Pouge coin. The Eliasberg-Pogue 1832 dime, graded MS66+ sold for $49,350 in February 2019. This is destined for the FINEST of type or Capped Bust dime collections. This is a sensational borderline SUPERB GEM that will see fierce bidding when it crosses the block. Good luck, you will need it if you plan to bring this prized Capped Bust dime home! Cert.
