THE SOMMELIER COLLECTION A generous mintage of 573,901 pieces makes the 1852 a popular No Motto half eagle for the collector. The present AU58 retains ample mint luster in the fields that highlight the surfaces. Some contact is noted with a strong glass, but this coin is not at all hacked up. A lovely honey gold coloration adds to the eye appeal. PCGS 74, NGC 255, CAC 20. The current Collectors Universe value is $1,000 and the CAC CPG value is $1,010 and no PCGS/CAC coin has sold in auction in over four years! This date becomes quite scarce in Mint State. Cert.
