A GEM that is beaming with reflective mirrors on both sides. Elegant deep azure, teal, rose, and gold tones are brought out by the bold mirrored fields. In general the mirrors offer a bold clarity and are icy smooth. Both sides are fully struck up. From a mintage of only 500, the 1865 represents a conditionally rare date, as well as the last of the regular issue No Motto dates (the ultra rare 1866 does not count). This handsome coin is among the finest graded by either service. PCGS 28, NGC 30. This coin brought $10,575 in June 2015 and a few months earlier, it sold for $11,750. NGC has graded 10 coins finer in the non-CAMEO designations. A lovely coin that will delight any proof dollar collector. Cert. Number 3755945-008 PCGS # 7008
