This GEM is a great representative for the type with a vibrant satin luster that dances in the light. The devices are crisp and sharp. Only a tiny tick or two can be found with the aid of a strong glass, and is more than acceptable given the overall eye appeal. While most of the series of silver and gold coins began utilizing John Reich’s popular Capped Bust design in 1807 to 1815; the half dimes were the last to come on board, in 1829. This was the first mintage of half dimes since 1805. PCGS 32, NGC 32, CAC 11. This is the most recent PCGS/CAC example to sell in auction, realizing $2,468 in our September 2016 Regency Auction and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $3,000.
