- 1863 Indian Cent. MS-66+ (PCGS). The fields of this incredible premium Gem are lightly prooflike and contrast the satiny texture of the devices. Toned in a blend of golden-tan and champagne-pink, a crescent of reddish-rose along the left obverse border adds further appeal. The surfaces are essentially pristine and tumble with lively cartwheel luster. Technically superior with exceptional eye appeal. With 49,840,000 coins struck, the 1863 Indian cent has the highest mintage of any issue in the 1860s. It is readily available in most Mint State grades but becomes critically scarce above the basal MS-66 level.
