- CYPRUS. 1/2 Piastre, 1879. Victoria. PCGS AU-58 Brown Gold Shield. KM-2. A well struck coin with satiny surfaces and a strong 'wood grain' texture in the planchet. Struck just after the end of the Russo-Turkish War in 1878, this coin heralded the beginnings of a currency system under the new British administration. Estimate: $100 - $200.
