A near-GEM example of this Standard Silver dime issue shows Liberty wearing a diadem with a single star in front. Liberty's hair is tied in a bun with flowing tresses that run down her neck. Struck in copper with a plain edge, this pattern is rated Rarity-7-, with an estimated 7-12 pieces struck. Boldly reflective mirrors shine from a rich bronzed patina, similar to mint medals of the era. Accents of gold and violet appear when the mirrors are twirled under a light. Well struck and very eye appealing! PCGS 2, NGC 0, CAC 1. The other example is the coin from the famed Denali Collection of Patterns that sold for $2,115 in September 2013. These pattern issues just seem way too cheap in comparison to their regular issue counterparts--and here is a coin that there are less than 12 known that can be had for less than double what the last regular 1870 PR64 dime graded by PCGS brought.
