This SUPERB GEM 1898 Liberty Head nickel has so much going for it, we don't really know where to begin! Just take a look at it for yourselves! First it is very conservatively graded, while we make no guarantees, we have seen MS67 Liberty Head nickels that are not as clean as this impressive beauty. If it were to grade MS67, it would be tied for FINEST GRADED at PCGS. Clearly, CAC agrees, that it is under-graded, awarding it a coveted GOLD CAC bean. Blazing mint luster is ultra brilliant, rolls vividly on both sides of this impressive example. The surfaces are especially high end and clean, virtually FLAWLESS. Every detail is razor sharp in definition. The eye appeal is truly awesome. The conservative grade and awesome eye appeal is just a part of the story. This coin is housed in a generation 1.0 or 1.1 holder, used for just a couple of weeks in February 1986, at the very beginning of PCGS's infancy.
