- FRANCE. Silver 5 Francs Essai (Pattern), 1814. Louis XVIII. PCGS SPECIMEN-61 Gold Shield. Maz-802a; Gad-592a. Struck to commemorate the visit to the Lille mint by the Duke of Berry. This attractive and nicely preserved example, struck in the weight and diameter of 5 Francs, exhibits bold design elements with clearly formed legends displaying rich mottled gray patina with areas of richer coloration amongst the devices.
