- 1836 Capped Bust Half Dollar. Lettered Edge. O-113. Rarity-2. MS-64 (PCGS). Handsome surfaces exhibit copper-gray patina to the obverse, deeper antique copper and steel toning on the reverse. Both sides are satiny in texture with an expectably smooth appearance for the assigned grade. The strike is sharp in virtually all areas and uncommonly well executed for this final year Capped Bust, Lettered Edge half dollar issue. The Autumn 2018 revision to Stephen J. Herrman's Auction & Mail Bid Prices Realized for Bust Half Dollars: 1794-1839includes a small number of MS-64s in the Condition Census for the 1836 O-113 dies.
