THE XANNO COLLECTION Two obverse types were struck in 1886; the two are distinguished by the placement of the lowest headdress feather. On Type 1, the feather points to the space between I and C in AMERICA, whereas on Type 2, it points between the C and A. Both types are scarce in GEM grades. Brilliant GEM red surfaces have a bold fiery luster and nicely struck devices. A strong glass aids in the location of some microscopic flecks which attest to the originality. The eye appeal is awesome. PCGS 25, NGC 7, CAC 5. The last PCGS MS65 RD CAC sold in August 2020 for $4,560; today the CAC CPG value is $5,000 and the PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $3,750.
