- 1873 Liberty Seated Quarter. No Arrows. Proof-66+ (PCGS). CAC. Peripherally toned in sea-green iridescence on the obverse with deep russet toward the otherwise brilliant center. The reverse displays deeper reddish-russet color with subtle blue border accents. Expertly preserved with outstanding eye appeal. Only 600 Proofs of the variety were produced according to government records; the distribution may have been smaller, perhaps something in the neighborhood of 300 pieces judging from the combined population statistics of the two leading certification services. The median grade for the variety is in the range between Proof-63 and 64; Gems are rare, and all but unobtainable above the Proof-66+ level, as here.
