- GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Crown, ND (1660-62). Charles II (1660-85). NGC VF-30. S-3307; N-2759; ESC-448. 15.12g. First issue without mark of value. Deeply toned on the obverse and somewhat lighter on the reverse with a pleasing strike, moderate wear that determines the grade and surfaces that are impressively wholesome, each side remaining free of major marks that could offend the eye. An altogether pleasing survivor of this VERY RAREand highly desirable issue, this being the first of similar quality to appear at major auction since an example, cataloged as good very fine, was sold by Spink in 2009 and realized £4000 hammer (approximately $6,400 at the time).
