- 1838 Modified Matron Head Cent. N-3. Rarity-1. MS-62 BN (PCGS). Highly lustrous light olive and steel-brown surfaces with several splashes of darker tone on each side. An appealing and nearly pristine cent, the only marks one could possibly point out are two extremely thin hairlines in the left obverse field. LDS. Includes an OGH PCGS label graded MS-63 BN. A flashy coin with good provenance. Provenance: From the John McBride Collection. Earlier ex Willard C. Blaisdell, September 1976; R.E.
