MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1885-Pi MH. San Luis Potosi Mint. NGC MS-64. KM-377.12; DP-Pi74. Tied for second finest certified of the date with five other examples and five finer (all MS-65). Coin exhibits satiny luster and striking mottled russet toning. This example is a sub-variety mentioned in Resplandores in which the base serif of the "I" in the mintmark is broken, giving it the appearance of a "T".
