ECUADOR. 8 Escudos, 1855/2-QUITO GJ. Quito Mint. PCGS AU-53 Gold Shield. Fr-8; KM-34.1; Onza-1774. A nice and original survivor boasting strong peripheral luster in the legends and a lovely combination of honey and apricot tone throughout. A decently struck example, though slightly uneven, with aspects of the central design not well defined. Otherwise a wholesome and attractive piece destine for a fine cabinet.
