详细说明: 1652 Massachusetts Bay Colony Pine Tree Threepence. Noe-34, W-630. Rarity-4. EF-40 (PCGS). The steel-gray surfaces of this attractive threepence offer deeper steel highlights in the protected areas. Off-center to the top of the obverse with THVS on the planchet, but all other letters affected in some manner by the rim's intrusion into the design; the reverse enjoys much finer centering with the rim tight to the tops of all the lettering but through only the N of NEW. Tiny rim clip at 3 o'clock relative to the obverse. Faint planchet ripple at the viewer's lower left of the tree on the obverse, otherwise no marks or blemishes of note, reverse affected by the rippling at the top of the date, otherwise no serious surface marks or blemishes. Choice for the grade. <br /> <br /> These dies later become N.35 after relapping and other work, with the most noticeable change at the D of ENGLAND -- on N.34 it is normally placed, but on N.35 it is backwards in the die.
