This marvelous MS68+ is virtually in a class all its own in terms of both technical quality and eye appeal! Both sides are very sharply struck up and are drenched in a vibrant satiny lustrous brilliance. Clearly stored for ages in an old album, both sides, but particularly the reverse, have taken on a stunning array of toning. The reverse boasts rich crimson, orange, gold, apricot, cinnamon, and violet toning that covers about 60% of the surface, leaving the center and the left untoned to act as a silver spotlight contrasting against the seductive color. The quality and eye appeal of this SUPERB Classic Commemorative half dollar is truly memorable! PCGS 56, NGC 56, CAC 22. There are just 10 graded MS68+ at PCGS, and the only one to sell in a major auction brought $15,863 in our May 2019 Regency Auction.
