(t) CHINA. "Lady & Peacock" Copper Medal, Year 33 (1944). Guilin Mint. PCGS MS-62 Brown. YCM-48. Diameter: 32mm. Obverse: Facing female bust within border of concentric rings and stars; circular legend around; all within maeander pattern border; Reverse: Peacock standing slightly left, with head turned upward and with wings spread; fan with legend above, all set upon background of tailfeathers; all within maeander pattern border. A quite RARE medal, this example delivers a premium Mint State appeal, with almost no instances of handling seen. Some red brilliance is even retained, adding to the further charm of the specimen. A piece that is certain to deliver much excitement to any collector of Chinese medals. Estimate: $2,500 - $5,000.
