The year 1837 was a transitional year at the mint, switching from the Capped Bust to Seated Liberty design. The first Seated dimes had no stars on the obverse making Liberty the focus of the design type. Vibrantly lustrous surfaces beam with a satiny brilliance on both sides. Sharply struck devices stand out on both sides, the obverse has two sharp die cracks at 4:30 and 7:00 converging in the central portion of the figure of Liberty. The surfaces are beautifully toned with lime-green and pale sapphire blue on both sides. The eye appeal is amazing. PCGS 32, NGC 24, CAC 17. There are just 3 in MS65+ at PCGS and just 9 finer. Offering a similar toning pattern as the Pogue example that brought $11,750 in March 2017. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $10,000.
