Type with small NEW YORK in field above the reverse ship. Warm olive-brown surfaces display no marks of consequence to the unassisted eye. Late reverse state, die crack from rim at 9 o'clock to ship's rigging, another at rim at 12 o'clock downward to the main mast. <strong>Breen-1031: </strong>"Same dies. Plain edge. 3 or 4 known." A rare prize among TAL specialists despite the fact that somewhat more than Breen's 1988 population of "3 or 4" known pieces have been found. Ted Craige's envelope reads: "Fuld 2A? With P.E. Finest Known Specimen. 2nd Known! Unknown to Fuld." A rare issue that will see spirited bidding activity.
