- Lightly toned. Another attractively toned example of the desirable 1796 issue, one of the scarcer Type designs in U.S. silver dollars. Clean surfaces on both sides. There is a pleasing absence of both hairlines and marks in the surface, a decided plus for any early dollar. What's more, the rims are complete, with but one very small bruise on the reverse edge at 3 o'clock. For 1796, both large and small date varieties are known, in addition to large or small letters in the reverse legend. Pop 7; 19 finer.</B> <BR>Estimated Value $4,000 - 4,500.
